関東子ども健康調査支援基金 / Kanto Children's Health Screening Fund

We Established the Fund.

"Kanto Children's Health Screening Fund" is a project aimed at protecting Kanto region children from radiation exposure.
It is a fund "of the people, by the people, for the people".

This fund was established on September 1, 2013, by citizens of Ibaraki and Chiba Prefectures in order to perform health screening (thyroid examination) in the radiation contaminated areas of the Kanto region.
The idea of the fund was inspired by many people who wanted to assure the future wellbeing of children and who argued for the precautionary principle when dealing with concerns of radiation effects.

We collect funds to conduct health screening of children living in the radiation contaminated areas of the Kanto region.
In order to observe children's health over a long period of time, our fund is planning to perform continuous thyroid monitoring.

We believe that by handing thyroid screening data and pictures directly to guardians and medical examinees we can contribute to people's health care in the long term without relying on statistical data.

Furthermore, we are planning to urge the government to create policies that would protect the health of more children from different areas.
